AGSL DIAMOND QUALITY DOCUMENT
The American Gem Society Laboratories issue a Diamond Quality Document that is a highly respected testimony of the quality of your diamond. Grading a diamond’s cut, color and clarity on a scale from 0 to 10, AGSL uses 0 to designate the finest quality and 10 to indicate the lowest.
A Diamond Quality Document includes:
- Shape and Cutting Style
- Measurements of the diamond’s dimensions
- Cut Grade – A cut grade of Zero is the finest
- Light Performance – Overall appearance from above
- Proportion Factors – Describes proportions, weight ratio and durability
- Finish – The overall analysis of polish and symmetry
- Polish – The surface of the diamond is graded
- Symmetry – In relationship to each other the shape, alignment and placement of the diamond's facets is measured along with the outline evenness.
- Color Grade – Zero (D) is the finest color and ten (Z) is the lowest
- Clarity Grade – Size, type, and location of inclusions are considered and a grade assigned. Zero (Flawless) is the finest and 10 (I3).
- Carat Weight – AGSL measures carat weight to the thousandth’s of a carat (third decimal).
- Comments – Anything not mentioned within the report is mentioned here, including fluorescence
